Why I built an AI that shops smarter than I do
Product research, review reading, and decision making is exhausting. Shopping is harder than it looks
Moving into a new apartment is exciting—until you realize how much stuff you need to buy. A mattress, a water purifier, a dining table—the list keeps growing, and so does the research required to make the right choices.
I was drowning in product comparisons, reading endless reviews, and trying to balance quality with budget when it hit me: what if ChatGPT could do all this for me?
That’s when I decided to create a personal shopping assistant that could handle it all—from sourcing the best options to breaking down the details in an easy-to-digest format.
So, what makes the Personal Shopper GPT different from just Googling things yourself? A few things: faster curation, tailored results, and expert advice that I didn’t know I needed.
personalization that actually gets you
Unlike generic shopping guides, this GPT doesn’t throw a list of random products at you. It asks you the right questions—what you care about, your budget range, preferred brands, and even specific material preferences. Want an organic cotton mattress under $1,500? It’ll source options across the web all at once.
It tailors suggestions to your wants, whether you're a minimalist, a sustainability advocate, or someone who just wants the best bang for their buck.
instant comparison and cross-shopping
Sick of comparing specs across multiple tabs? The GPT lays everything out in a simple, organized table, comparing budget-friendly, mid-range, and luxury options side by side. You get the essentials: product name, price, key features, quality ratings, and even direct purchase links—no more decision fatigue.
And because it pulls insights from expert reviews, testimonials, you get insights into what people love or hate about each option.
I built it because I needed it. And now my apartment is a bit more furnished than it would’ve been if I just opened 500 browser tabs and gave up.
If you’re tired of second-guessing your purchases, give it a try. Your sanity will thank you.
